I always bike to studio.

I haven't noticed that much great view

because

a bunch of people did"hanami".
Hanami is like people have party under the tree of cherry blossom.

Hanami season is gone.

Cherry blossom started fallen.

Nobody there.

I think that's why the view attracted me.

Cherry blossom fallen even more look beautiful.

It's like a river of cherry blossom.

I wanted to jump to there.

It's beautiful.....this is it.

It's not just one color.
Looking at more detail of green.
It's all texture.

There is specific color in every place.
It's because of they have own weather in each city and country.

I found different green color from a moss inside a cave in Japan.
It's very different from Toronto one.
The weather, moisture and dryness have never changed inside there,
even from ancient times.

People have different sense of color depend on where you grown up.
It's because of the color of nature, view and air.

This is my green color now.
I see green color like this,
even include white parts.

It's like my green color erode into your cell in body system.

This is texture but it's a color to me.

THE WORLDLY LOOK - ETHNICITY IN THE 1960/70'S

Very hot in the 1960 and 70's, caftans like this circa 1970's piece, were imported from Eastern European countries like Poland and Romania to satisfy boho-ethnic style choices of the day. Those were heady times my friends, when world vision became fashion. Like Dashikis from West African countries, Nehru jackets and gauze everything from India, the caftan was the cut of the cloth for those "Making the Scene".

This stylishly comfortable caftan is floor length and long sleeved, of wonderful quality cotton + embellished with colourful hand embroidery in silk.

Holy Mountain "Gakuen Temple" (鰐淵寺)

This is the mountain where I talk about....

It needs over this mountain.....

First of all, I leave a car and going to inside mountain

There is nature water from top of mountain it's very clean and nice cool temperature.

The road is very small, It's not even enough size of one small car.
I think it would take more time to get goal....

The wood is everywhere, and every woods are tall and huge.

From here, it's like more inside rock.
It feels like going to inside cave.
There is dropping water all over the rock from top of hill.

It looks almost there.....I don't feel tired because of air is so fresh.

Finally....wait a min....this is still gate....

There is very chill atmosphere, but it's very unusual...what is this atmosphere?

Take more stair.....main temple is almost there....

Finally, I got there.
Gakuen Temple (鰐淵寺) main temple since 594.
So many monk who couldn't belong to usual group went to receive one's training here.
This temple is so deep inside mountain and hidden because of these monk had ahead mind....
One of famous one named "Benkei".

It has totally different air, time, and color.
Aesthetic is really beautiful and unique here.

This huge bell is from 1188.

Usually, this holy mountain trip would finish but real underground spot is from right now.
Some really old Japanese temple has another temple to protect main temple.
The road is not properly at all, and it's located behind main temple.

All water comes from here.

Air, Time, Color, Aesthetic everything are different.
I think I learned and inspired so many thing totady....

I just came back to my home town.

When I arrived there, I saw very interesting happening.

There is the hardest rigorous aesthetic exercises once a year in mountain of east Japan.
A lots of monk come to these exercises to develop themself from all over Japan, they live in mountain for 100 days and just doing aesthetic practices.
It's not like just aesthetic practices, as long as being in edge of mentality they can find out something the people don't see usually.

So many monk are given up this rigorous aesthetic exercises in way because it's very hard training like 2 hours sleep everyday, chanting under the water fall　and breaking off eating.

It is hard as much as monk vomits blood.

This time, one of monk was successful in rigorous ascetic exercises and he could come back from there.

It's about once 50 years for this temple where this monk lives.

It's very rare to see this happening.

Coming back to treasure hunting....
I went to place where I went to often when I was kid.
I found interesting stuff......

Ode to a Grecian Beauty

A very fluid, very beautiful baby doll style, created in a heavenly blue silk chiffon, fully lined at the bodice. with high princess waist.
This dress is about the details. Small pleating, clean and sharp across the bodice & throughout the top. Around the back, more added detail - tiny milky blue acrylic buttons.
So well made!

There are no markings anywhere so I have no idea, except that the quality makes me think its pretty high-end.....but whatever it is, it's very lovely.

Hurray! Kenzo comes to Apt909

A rare find from Japanese designer, Kenzo Takada.
The "House" of Kenzo is in Paris.
He opened his first shop in "The City of Light" in 1970, decorating it with jungle prints + wild animals and named it "Jungle Jap". Obviously the kids loved it and its fresh spiritedness, inspired by traditional Japanese shapes and design sensibilities.
Maybe Kenzo is hard to find because of the classic rich colours and shapes, or the excellent quality of manufacture that allows a piece to have a long lifetime. Hard to say, but what is easy to say, Kenzo rocks!

Kenzo also specializes in knitwear, producing eclectic comfy looks.
This entirely sweet sweater is made in rich Kenzo colours. Typical of Kenzo, bright spring & summer, rich fall & winter.

He creates simple cuts that are embellished by the weave. The full zip sweater is gently fitted to the waist, with long sleeves and a high-necked collar.

A very comfortable piece in an excellent weave of wool that creates a butterfly texture that still holds its shape when cleaned.

All the incredible style is in the combination of pattern + colour choices.

Our donor collector of fine everything, says Lilian and her husband had a little shop in Paris were they created beautiful things.
They split-up, the business was lost.
So girls, here is one of the remaining pieces from this designer.

An amazing little art work of art.
Made by Toronto artist, A.S., circa 1980 (signed + dated) + purchased at Toronto's select shop, "Fab".
"Fab" was one of Queen St. West's most important + stylish select shops, dictating what Toronto's fashionista would be wearing, if you could afford to as Fab's prices were totally unreasonable.
I had several friend's who either worked there, or tried to get work there, for the discount. Peter the owner was generous and gave staff 50% off or even sometimes for free. He wanted his staff looking great.
"Fab" is definitely one of the reasons Queen St. W developed the way it did, making the street one of downtown's more expensive rents.
They showcased Toronto's artist when few others would, allowing for this piece to be seen + bought.

This piece:
Made from outer pocket watch casing + inner watch parts, The piece was created using found objects, i.e clock guts + acrylic dancing girl.

The piece would serve you well mounted as art rather than being worn as a pin + could be untilized by everyone that way.

This piece should be hard to come by now as tusk, horn + certain skins are illegal to hunt or kill for their pelts, any part + good.

The company was started by Fratelli Prada (English: Prada Brothers) and by Mario Prada in 1913 as a leather-goods shop in Milan. After his death in the mid-1950's, Mario's daughter-in-law took helm of Prada, and maintained it for almost twenty years.

A very special piece!
The designer has attached, as the label, a "map" that indicates the level of importance the piece holds (to the label).
This is numbered 0 which means there are very few pieces, and would have been quite expensive, and of course, very collectable.

An interesting piece from "Maison Martin Margiela" originally of the "Antwerp 6", an experimental design collaborative started in the 1980's that included Ann Demeulemeester and Dries Van Noten. Margiela began his own label in 1986.

This shirt, for men or women, has great potential in terms of longevity and style. Layered and in two pieces with a white cotton under layer and black gauze chiffon over layer. There is a hook closure at the heart and one more at the belly button.
It can be really cute as a jacket too!
Using only the top heart closure it can be beautiful beach wear or an evening jacket.

Ok, so this is how I remember Italy's "GIANNI VERSACE" a little kid, sitting in the doctor's office and checking out Vogue.
He advertised in American and always in the first few pages.Iman, Kelly Emberg, Andy McDowell and the most beautiful model of the 1980's Kelly LeBrock(check her out mid 80's U.S Vogue in Japan, still one of the most beautiful editorials ever)
Anyway...back to Gianni Versace. This piece has seen a lot of travel and made its way to me, via Milan to Tokyo, Tokyo to Toronto, into my waiting arms.
This gorgeous piece made in Italy by Italians,very talented seamstresses and tailors. Being a piece from circa 1980's and made in Italy, indicate its authenticity and that the piece is not subject to licencing(i.e the selling of name label to an outside party to produce under the bought moniker or name) or, being counterfeit.This piece was an ordered import from Italy to Japan,which definitely adds value to the piece.ok.
She's a gorgeous African violet purple. It's whole body made of linen, very fine, turn the dress inside out and see.
Is detailed in a cotton silk blend detailed with the pleats built in to the fabric creating a sherring effect across the body and covers one shoulder, the other, a very fine linen, the combination at the neckline creates an A-symetrical "V" shape, silk covers the body and linen continues into a pencil skirt that is detailed with a slit.
Well ladies, this is the real thing, excellent vintage, why?
It's made in Italy and designed by the late, great, Gianni Versace at the height of his career and before he was cut down on the steps of his own home....
I guess this is the stuff legends are made of.R.I.P.

As well a being the creator of beautiful pieces of clothing, his company supported designer Tsumori Chisato's early 1990's efforts.

Her pieces are more works of art, as totally collectable as they are wearable.
Made of cotton with natural materials i.e leather,shell,mother of pearl shell, and hand painted in a water based paint.

American company Serial Killer (west coast), are not screwing around, which is why they are becoming some of the most collectable tees since 70's rock shirts.

The early days, 89-90 was a revival of grassroots....
Kids worldwide were working in their basements, and, if lucky enough, some storefront their uncle lent them.
Working in a vacuum, they started producing "Zines", self-published works from comic strips to art to....
Whatever /wherever they were passionate about.
All this work was pre-blog, pre-face book and e.t.c.
Not very trusting in terms of copy write detail, eventually a community was formed and trading began.
Many lucky young companies were born; slightly more current underground, creative and socially conscious works set a new precedence…

This tee, long sleeved cotton, in a heavier gauge is a beautifully faded indigo dye. And as tagged is "made at home" (in America). The subject matter, also very time sensitive as it was created in response to child entertainer "Pee Wee Herman" who in the early 1990's was busted at a movie theater, watching porn and masturbating.
As always, North America completely overreacts.
Some say it was a set-up.
This t-shirt, run out of the basement, makes this skater shirt very collectable.

You know your looking at an excellent shoe when your not sure if it was designed last month or in this case, 40 years ago.
These beauties from Parisian designer "MAUD FRIZON".
In the 1970's + 80's easily one of the top five, Maud Frizon was worn by the wealthiest + most fashionable.
This little sandal is tone on tone emerald, chartruse + mustard in very fine leather that is lined in another natural color'd leather in a cross hatch design + sole'd in leather with the heel in a wedge shape.

Natural Fiber Inspired Purses

Wheat coloured fabric clutch, chic and elegant, super modern linen fabric clutch with mother of pearl buttons and satin piping details embellishes. The buttons are attached with gold thread circa 1950, in mint condition.

Straw coloured natural woven grasses circa 1940-50. Small, soft body with brass twist toggle closure. Handheld, simple and clean for the summer. Lined.

Cane process patterned hard-bodied hand held handbag circa 1950. Covered in cane, normally reserved for chairs. The fifties enjoyed new strange materials and used them freely. The piece is beautifully detailed with brass fancy snap closure and fins. An all time fav at Apt909.

Hand painted hard-bodied handbag circa 1950. Detailed with a wave of silver leather along the base. The handle matching in a brushed silver metal, again, incredibly modern styling and choices of colour and materials.

Dorothy's parallel universe from Parisian couturier Charles Jourdan circa 1970. The most beautiful green I've ever seen - a cross between peacock blue and emerald green. These patent leather Mary-Jane's are detailed with big buttons in a lighter shade of green and stacked leather platform heels. Size 10

Beautifully constructed, richly dyed suede in purple with white ribbon stripped embellishment on strap and small wedge platform heel. From Christine Peres and made in Italy circa 1970's, but really reminds us of the 1940's. size 7-8

For us, this is designer vintage high fashion at its best! Located in Paris, and in this instance producing out of Italy, in the 1970's - 80's Maud Frizon was one of the most glamourous European exports and found in only the most high end boutiques. These are from David's in Toronto. This stunning pair are made from snakeskin, dyed red and piped in silver leather around all edges. Downside, they're size 5.5

Colours like cotton candy. Smaller square scarf from Paris' house of Lanvin. Printed with a peacock in reds blues violet and yellow. Hand rolled and hand stitched circa 1970.

Stunning and stylish circa 1960's. Spring, summer gorgeous. Darkest blue and creme tightly woven and dipped in a coating to protect the straw. Bubble cap should sit high on the head.
